With Love from a Country Kitchen Review

With Love from a Country Kitchen

Homegrown Memories and Recipes

Let the smell of freshly baked apple pie and the familiar sounds of a busy cook bustling about the kitchen fill you with warm memories of a simpler life as you enjoy Deb Strain’s paintings of classic American scenes. The beautiful vintage dishes and jars of homemade jams and pickled garden veggies line these pages as they once filled a well-stocked country cupboard.

With the turn of each page, you’ll find inspiration to try one of Deb’s family-favorite recipes like Mom’s Creeping Crust Cobbler or Sweet, Sweet Potato Casserole. Wholesome and inspiring quotes about family, faith, and country accompany the artwork, making this truly a charming gift book.
My Review:
This is exactly like the Gooseberry Patch series of cookbooks, and I love it. I can not wait to try the recipes out of this book. I can taste the cheese soup and smell the apple crisp. There is a section at the end to add your own recipes and there are quotes throughout the book along with great illustrations. I would love to frame them and hang them up in my greenhouse. There are also wonderful proverbs and quotes from famous people like Shakespeare. I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own.
