Jennifer’s Weight Loss Success with Weight Watchers
Jennifer is a middle age
women who, like the majority of Americans today, struggled with her personal
health and weight, and still does today but with new found success. As a guest
blogger on double chin diary her personal post can be found here.
While Jennifer had previously
given the Weight Watchers program in 2003 a try, losing 65 pounds, she slowly
quit attending the weekly group meetings and eventually stopped going all
together in 2004. Soon after, the weight Jen had lost came back along with her poor
health habits.
In April of 2010 Jennifer was
ready to give Weight Watchers another try. She eagerly joined again as part of
a team through her work. The second time around Jennifer took a different
approach than she had the first time, one that led her to a new longer lasting
success.
“I followed the program as
best I could and I wouldn’t let my little mishaps affect me on a larger scale”,
states Jennifer. For Jennifer, knowing she wasn’t perfect, she knew this time
around she was bound to make mistakes but instead of dwelling on the extra
cookie she ate after dinner and allowing it to hold back her long term weight
loss goals, she simply chalked it up to, ‘no one’s perfect’ and kept working
towards her goals.
As the main cook for her
family, Jen invested in a few cook books and magazines that contained
nutritional information and utilized the hundreds of recipes and healthy eating
tips as well as information about Weight Watchers found on websites like weightlosstriumph.com.
Jennifer made a point to choose healthy meals with reasonably low point values on a daily basis keeping her within her daily point allowance. “My family was a huge supporter, never once complaining about what most people would consider ‘diet recipes’”, Jennifer tells us.

By August of 2010 Jennifer
had lost 10 percent of her starting weight and by the end of 2010 a total of 50
pounds. Her new mentality was working and the scale was her proof.
One of the biggest changes
Jennifer has made is her commitment to being active. Prior to taking a stance
and working towards her better health goals Jen despised anything that had to
do with fitness and gyms. Now, she has made a point to attend a gym on a
bi-weekly basis regularly and also attends a Pilates class to improve her core
strength.
Now, sinse April of 2011
through February of 2012 Jennifer’s total weight loss fluctuates between 55 and
62 pounds. Her commitment to good health
and keeping her lost weight off is one that she believes to be realistic. She
knows that during the months of October through December she might be a couple
pounds up on her weight, but she also knows that by maintaining a regular
healthy lifestyle and following what Weight Watchers has taught her, she can
lose it again.
“I feel younger than I am and
it has increased my self-esteem as well” states Jennifer about her new healthy
outlook. Jennifer is even considering doing her first 5K as she continues with
the new found success.
