“Love makes sinners of us all.”
In the sleepy Midwestern town of Vespers…
In the sweltering summer heat…
Julian Sane, high school teacher and cad’s cad, is a man at war with himself. But a chance encounter with a former student will push him across professional boundaries and force him to confront his personal demons.
From the author of YOUTH AND OTHER FICTIONS comes a love story for those who live in the real world, where love does not conquer all and actions do have consequences.
Note: SINNERMAN has attracted some controversy in Jonathan M. Cook’s  hometown due to a number of similarities between events in the book and actual events in the community over the past several years. This book is a work of fiction!

My Review:
There are a few things that you need to know before you read this book. Lily was never Julian's student, but she did go to the school where he taught. Which brings up a lot of ethical issues. Julian was not a one woman guy, until he met Lily. Julian is weird before this whole dilemma happens. His whole family is quite weird. He is up for tenure and is going to try his best to get it, no matter who he hurts.
He meets Lily and realizes that he loves her. However he did not expect it to threaten his job, his tenure, and his sanity. His thoughts are now spent wondering what he should do. He continues to be with Lily, falling in love more and more. He never really knew what true love was. He has to meet with his superiors and tries to save his job. Where does that leave Lily? The ending was good, especially towards the end of the meeting. I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own.
