Introduction
Wilmington, Delaware
Actions have consequences. I learned that long ago.
- I learned it when I was five years old and got caught stealing cigarettes.
- I learned it when Mikey “The Face” Fagullo beat our asses for not giving him a cut of the smokes we stole from a boxcar.
- I learned it when Father Tom caught us playing cards instead of attending mass.
- Mostly I learned it when I shot Freddy Campisi. That lesson cost me ten years in prison.

My Review:
I love this book. This is a great author that brings the mafia to life through words. It shows that no matter how much you promise to go straight, your past is still your past. I am Italian and I remember my relatives talking about The Godfather movies, and the Mafioso. My family comes from Pescara, Italy, which is 343 miles from Sicily. This book was written in a way that I could see past generations, and present day mafia members, doing the things described. I also liked the role that God played in the book, because my ancestors were definitely catholic. I also really felt that the author knew a lot about being a detective. His characters were true to life. He also has a knack for gruesomely describing bodies. This is a book that has a lot of swearing, which is not for all readers. I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own.
