My Own Mr. Darcy by Karey White Review and Giveaway

My Own Tour
  mr darcyMy Own Mr. Darcy

After being dragged to the 2005 movie Pride and Prejudice by her mother, sixteen-year-old Elizabeth’s life changes when Matthew Macfadyen’s Mr. Darcy appears on the screen. Lizzie falls hard and makes a promise to herself that she will settle for nothing less than her own Mr. Darcy. This ill-advised pledge threatens to ruin any chance of finding true love. During the six intervening years, she has refused to give any interested suitors a chance. They weren’t Mr. Darcy enough. Coerced by her roommate, Elizabeth agrees to give the next interested guy ten dates before she dumps him. That guy is Chad, a kind and thoughtful science teacher and swim coach. While she’s dating Chad, her dream comes true in the form of a wealthy bookstore owner named Matt Dawson, who looks and acts like her Mr. Darcy. Of course she has to follow her dream. But as Elizabeth simultaneously dates a regular guy and the dazzling Mr. Dawson, she’s forced to re-evaluate what it was she loved about Mr. Darcy in the first place.

My Review
I love Mr Darcy. I actually thought that I was going to get a Mr. Darcy of my own! I did too, in my own way. What Elizabeth doesn't realize it that there is a little bit of Mr. Darcy in every one. However what part of Mr. Darcy is right for her? Is it the obvious Mr. Darcy, Matt, or the less obvious choice, Chad? I liked how the author brought the original class difference between Darcy and ms. Bennet into the present day. It was a really good take on a classic. My favorite character is Elizabeth's mom, she always made me laugh, and I really enjoyed that present day mom was the one who took her to the movies. I really liked the ending and I am definitely going to have to get this book in print for my keeper shelf. There were obvious links between the two books, but there were also many less obvious links that I found and enjoyed. I have a feeling the more times I read this book, the more links I will find. Chad or Matt? Matt or Chad? Either way this was a great read! I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own.
