Keeper of the Reign by Emma Right Review and Giveaway

Keeper of the Reign

Books written in blood. Most are lost, their Keepers with them. A curse that befell a people. A Kingdom with no King. Life couldn’t get more harrowing for the Elfies, a blend of Elves and Fairies. Or for sixteen-year-old Jules Blaze. Or could it? For Jules, the heir of a Keeper, no less, suspects his family hides a forgotten secret. It was bad enough that his people, the Elfies of Reign, triggered a curse which reduced the entire inhabitants to a mere inch centuries ago. All because of one Keeper who failed his purpose. Even the King’s Ancient Books, did not help ward off that anathema. Now, Gehzurolle, the evil lord, and his armies of Scorpents, seem bent on destroying Jules and his family. Why? Gehzurolle’s agents hunt for Jules as he journeys into enemy land to find the truth. Truth that could save him and his family, and possibly even reverse the age-long curse. Provided Jules doesn't get himself killed first.

My Review:
This was a really good book about a curse and a Kingdom with a dead king. As the struggle for the throne is fought to be kept in the right hands I started to really get into the book. I loved the half fairy and half elf creatures! I also got very involved in all the secrets and who knew what. It was interested to read about characters that did not know the secrets that I "thought" I knew. This was also a great story about a young man that has to grow up too fast. Jules is only 16 and he should not be worried about ending curses and saving his people. He was a great character to read about and I liked when he argued with his siblings. The ending was pretty good and it did leave an opening for another book. Gehzurolle’s army was a great army to hate. I really wanted them to lose the battles. I am giving this book a 4/5. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own.
