When It's Least Expected by Heather Van Fleet! Giveaway & Interview!

Moving on after a tragedy can be impossible – especially when you’ve been dealing with those tragedies for over two years. But it’s her senior year, and Harley Anderson is more than ready to do just that, even though the skeletons in her closet can’t exactly be hidden.
Enter Mason Daniel, the egotistical, sexy, surfer boy from California – a boy with his own hidden demons, and even bigger secret agenda.
Mason isn’t right for Harley. He knows this better than anyone. He’s the epitome of a runner–a guy who takes what he can get, only to split a short while later. But he can’t deny the emotions that Harley brings out of him, so he’s going to break his rules for once.
He should have known what it would lead to… Two kindred souls – both lost and then found. Will they fail, once again, in their search for contentment and happiness, or will they finally find true love, when it’s least expected?

Deal Sharing Aunt interview questions

1.    How do Mason and Harley meet? Are they both in school?
Harley and Mason’s first meeting is at their high school’s first football game of the year. Harley lost something under a set of bleachers, and Mason finds it! Easy enough right? Let’s just say that fate brings them together in a way they didn’t count on, but they couldn’t have resisted it if they tried. . . J
2.    Who would play Mason and Harley in a movie?
For some reason, this question always trips me up because honestly, there is really nobody out there in the movie business that I can picture as my characters. Weird, I know, but I have this image in my head of these two, and it’s hard to envision anyone becoming them on the big screen. But I would say that whoever it would be, that they’d have to be someone I didn’t know and have never heard of.
3.    Will there be a sequel?
Absolutely . . . sort of. J But book two (entitled A Long Time Coming) will be based on the secondary characters from WILE. (When It’s Least Expected) It will be based on Harley’s twin brother David and her best friend Abigail. But Harley and Mason fans will be excited to know that the two of them will be in that book pretty significantly as well. I absolutely can’t wait to share David and Abigail’s story . . . but this one also tore me up on the inside writing it – way more than WILE did actually. I’m really nervous to see how people react to this couple’s fate because it’s not necessarily an easy one. Enough said J
4.    Can you tell us about the tragedies and skeletons without ruining the book? No spoilers please!
Hmm, let’s see. . . I can tell you that the two of them deal with some super sensitive issues, especially for a set of seventeen year olds. For instance, WILE touches on the issues of teen suicide (briefly) depression/anxiety, and so on, so forth. There’s a whole lot more skeletons, but I don’t want to get into it because that would be spoiler-ish J I know it seems like a lot for one book, but it doesn’t overshadow the romance (at least I don’t think so) whatsoever. . .
5.    What would you like my readers to know?
I want to first say thank you so, so much for taking the time out to read my interview. I like to talk . . . a lot . . .  so hopefully I didn’t lose you too much J Also, WILE is a very long book, and it is a young adult novel, but I sweated blood over this baby, and I can only hope that someone enjoys Mason and Harley’s story as much as I did!
