Time by Rod Stewart Album Review!!!

Time, releasing May 7th, 2013, marks Stewart's long-awaited return to his songwriting roots and features 12 tracks, 11 of which he wrote and produced. The album was born from a burst of inspiration that came while Rod was reviewing his life for his recent memoir. Rod rediscovered his voice as a songwriter and rekindled his gift for writing the honest, nerve-touching narratives that have been the cornerstone to the first three decades of his career. "Suddenly ideas for lyrics were piling up in my head," he says. "Next thing I knew, I had a song called 'It's Over' about divorce and separation. And now I was getting up in the middle of the night and scrambling for a pen to write things down, which has never happened to me. I finished seven or eight songs very quickly and I still wasn't done, and it became apparent that I would eventually have a whole album of material to record."

My Review:
As I listened to this album I felt like I was transported back in time. Rod picked up right where he left off, and fans are sure to love this new album. I think that "She Makes me Happy" will be played at many weddings this year, and years to come. The songs are very catchy and I found myself singing along by the second and third time I played the cd. "Time" was a nice love song, and now I know why it is also the title of the cd. I love the song "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy", and was happy that Rod wasn't afraid to name a new song "Sexual Religion" It is about a night when the lights go out. I really liked it.  Rod has such a recognizable voice, and I definitely am going to be listening to this album a lot. I also felt that these songs went along with periods of my life. We have all had break- ups, and we have all had a loved one that always makes us smile and makes us happy. Rod also looks very good for his age! There is going to have to be another greatest hits album soon! I can definitely see some of these songs as popular as "Maggie May" and others.

I participated in this campaign for One2One Network. I received a free copy of the CD to facilitate my review. By posting, I am eligible for incentives. All opinions stated are my own.
