Description
Sara Jenkins, a math geek and hockey fanatic, is thrilled
when the NHL hires her as an advisor for the Buffalo Storm. She gets to marry
her two loves in this perfect job.
Sebastian St. Amant is a young hockey player looking to
make the jump from the minors to the big leagues. His lifelong dream is within
reach, but he needs to convince the Storm's management and coaches he's ready.
When Sara and Sebastian meet, sparks immediately fly.
Both want to succeed, but neither can ignore the growing attraction and a
relationship is out of the question—Sara’s an influential staff member and
Sebastian’s a player, not to mention over ten years her junior.
But the impossible becomes the necessary when they can no
longer fight their attraction. As everything crashes around them, the strength
of their relationship is tested. Will it weather the storm, or should they have
known better?

Author Interview:
1. Why hockey instead of another sport?
I laughed when I saw this question. Uhhhh, because hockey is awesome? :-P I've been a hockey fan most of my life, and when I moved to the Buffalo NY area I started following the Sabres. For most of the time I've lived here the Bills have been terrible, which has tempered my enjoyment of football. Never been a big baseball or basketball fan.
2. What does a hockey advisor do? Does she need training?
An adviser works with the coaching staff to identify strengths and weaknesses both in the opponents and in their own team's game. They do this through personal observation, video, and a slew of other methods, depending on the team. You would need good knowledge of hockey and of research to do the job, but I don't think any specialized training would be necessary.
3. How do their families feel about the age difference?
It's funny - I don't deal with the families' reactions at all. I would imagine Sebastian's parents might not be thrilled he's with someone twelve years older than himself. Sarah's family probably wouldn't care - she isn't close to them.
4. What would you like my readers to know?
If you've read my work before, you should understand that this is NOT an erotic story. I call it "spicy contemporary". It's still very sexy and intense, but the sex isn't as frequent or as graphic as with my erotic works. It's also longer than anything else I have out there at nearly 70,000 words.
They say every author has the "book of their heart". Should've Known Better is the book of my heart. It's the first one I ever wrote, and I just couldn't rest until the story of Sarah and Sebastian was out there.

My Review:
I hate hockey. After reading this book and learning about the game I started to like hockey. The main characters made hockey exciting and fun to read about. The analysis and statistics made me realize that there is more to hockey than just flying teeth. Sara works for the company Sebastian plays hockey for. Will their relationship ruin everything that they both worked so hard for? What will the other players and co-workers think? What if they do nothing and are so in love with each other that they mess up their jobs anyway? I definitely didn't know what was going to happen. I especially didn't know where the hockey stats were going to end up. I didn't even know if the stats were good or bad. The age difference was also fun to read about.
I am giving this book a 5/5 because I liked it and I learned somethings. I was given a copy to review from CBLS Promotions. However all opinions are my own.
