What do the sisters have in common? How are
they different?
Ginger and Willa have a lot in common. They
have an unspoken agreement not to discuss the harsh realities of their mutual
upbringing and that silence is comfortable for both of them. They both use
humor to make light of the awful conditions in which they were raised. Ginger,
however, has shielded Willa from a lot of the fallout and thus taken on more of
a maternal role. That’s where they differ.

In the first chapter, Ginger finds the purse
containing fifty thousand dollars in the arms of her passed-out junkie mother.

I’m not a huge fan of Dolly’s music – but I’m a
fan of her philosophy. She has a very bright outlook on life and how to deal
with adversity. She grew up in a one room shack in Tennessee and turned her
life into a success so I thought she would be an ideal hero for Ginger and
Willa.
Why Chicago? Have you ever been there?
I’ve driven through. Mostly I picked Chicago
because it was the biggest city driving distance from Nashville. I thought it
was the place Ginger would pick to hide out.
What would you like my readers to know?
That if they like possessive alpha males with dirty mouths,
they’re going to fall in love with my hero, Derek Tyler, the police lieutenant
Ginger meets upon arriving in Chicago.
MY Review:
With cops like this, I should visit the Police Station more often! lol. What a great strong male character. Derek is not only strong for his woman, he is also strong enough for the whole town. In the beginning of the story Derek losses a fellow cop, and it affects him badly. He definitely is a character I love to love. Stern yet sensitive.
I also liked Ginger. She was trying to start a new life for her and her sister. She saw the money as an opportunity, and she took it. Fate did the rest.
Can Derek let Ginger go, once he realizes the money that is involved? What will happen to Willa if Ginger is arrested?
I liked this plot and it was a fast read for me. The author created great characters that were easy to like. The ending also has a nice surprise involving one of the sisters! I am giving this story a 5/5! I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own!
