Just a dream. Always just a dream. It could never be more than that. Not with my dream man, not with any man. Knowing this did nothing to dampen the disappointment that weighed heavy on me each time I entered that one moment where dreams and reality co-existed and I forgot who I really was and what would happen if I ever experienced that level of surrender. But fear replaced my self-absorption when the alarms penetrated my foggy mind. Outside my cottage, footsteps raced through the cold night, crunching on newly fallen snow. My Review:

I really enjoyed reading this book. It had a really dark villain, and as I read through the book I found myself comparing the book to Romeo and Juliet. I have not read this dark of a character in awhile. I am a huge fan of Once Upon A Time, and this book was right up my alley.

Poor Rose. She lives a sheltered life, believing her mom, and never knowing the truth until it is much too late. Will she have time to go against her mother and save herself, her family, her people, and her love?

Derek is drawn to Rose and it is love at first sight. Little does he know what he is really up against. He tries to tell Rose the truth about her mom, and eventually Rose makes a decision to follow her heart. Rose takes steps to be stronger and she also enlists her sister. Rose hopes that when the time comes she will be strong enough to go against her mom.

Derek and Rose are deeply in love, they know that they must settle their family lives, before they can take their relationship further. They do not realize that their families are more intertwined then either of them could ever imagine.

This book was very well written, and it was a fast read for me. I loved the characters and the fact that Rose and Derek each had paranormal characteristics. I enjoyed reading about Rose's coven and the relationship with her mom was really well developed. I am giving this book a 4/5 because as much as I loved, it is not one of my favorite witch/paranormal romances. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series though!
