Song remains the same by Allison Winn Scotch

A LITTLE ABOUT THE BOOK: One of only two survivors of a plane crash, Nell Slattery wakes in the hospital with no memory of the crash or who she is, or was. Now she must piece together both body and mind with the help of family and friends who have their own agendas. She filters through photos, art, music and stories, hoping something will jog her memory, and soon – in tiny bits and pieces –Nell starts remembering. It isn’t long before she learns to question the stories presented by her mother, her sister and business partner, and her husband. In the end she will learn that forgiving betrayals small and large will be the only true path to healing herself and to finding happiness.
Because the book is all about using music to bring back memories, we’ve created a fun playlist for you to listen to while reading The Song Remains the Same.

My review: Wow. I love the cover and the theme of the book. I read the book in two days! I was hooked. Nell has no idea who she is. She doesn't remember her past, nor does she remember anything of er marriage. Nell soon realizes that she can not trust her family to tell her the truth. They have their own reasons for lying (which you will understand why). Only when Nell promises to tell her story to a reporter, and give him rights to her story, does Nell start to learn the truth. Litte truths lead to devastating realities. Nell does not give up her search for truth until she goes to her father's house. She realizes that the truth is not always what you want to hear, or remember.
Nell and the other survivor also become friends and he helps her on her journey of self discovery.  With reporters who will do anything for a story, family members with their own agenda, a lying husband, and no memories of her own, Nell is in for the roller coaster ride of her life.
I really liked this book. I like that music was used to help her gain her memory and I love the songs in the book. I found myself singing along wit Nell. What a story line. To lose your memory, and to have those closest to you lie about our past. No wonder Nell felt incomplete. I recommend this book definitely and give it 6 stars out of 5 :)
