My Review:
I really liked this book, It is a very empowering book for women. I really didn't understand how she left her kids, but she left them with her twin brother. She had no choice, and she knew that they would be kept safe. I was also in awe that strangers took care of Andrea, and that gave me hope that there are still good people out there. Reminds me o pay it back more often. This was a short read for me, and yet I found myself attached to Andrea and her new town, with her new friends. She sent for her kids and everything seemed to be looking up. Until an accident makes Andrea wonder how this could happen. What is she going to do? She needs to call her mother in law, who is not nice to Andrea at all.
Andrea's husband Sean is a wife beater. He is also in the service, and has ptsd. Soon doctor's find out that Sean has so many medical issues, that he never should have been sent to war in the first place. What do they do now? who will take care of him? Will this affect Andrea's divorce? What about the kids? Will they be kept safe from Sean's abuse? There will be a showdown, and it will include weapons. You will have to read the book to find out the rest!
This book is truly a good book full of suspense and romance. I didn't know what was going to happen to Andrea until the end!

  4. Thank you all for your comments! I'm so intrigued by how many readers/reviewers can't believe Andrea could leave her children behind. For many years my work involved analyzing domestic abuse issues and mothers often left their children behind to be raised by grandparents. I've seen it in my extended family. It's not as unusual as we think.

My main message in this book is that there is hope for a better future and one that does not include further abuse. Enjoy!
