Christmas in Apple Ridge by Cindy Woodsmall book review

 

I was excited to read this and get in the holiday spirit! When I saw that it was a trilogy I thought that they would be short stories. However when I got the book I was a little surprised to see that there are three full length (aprox 200 pages each) stories. I also love Cindy Woodsmall. The first story is about Beth and Jonah. Beth is afraid to let go of her past heartache and open up again to new romantic opportunities. Jonah is a physically hurt man who is willing to love again, but can he give Beth what she wants? It takes a meddling aunt to get them to start writing to each other, what will happen from there?
The second story is about Mattie and Gideon. Gideon broke Mattie's heart, but he thought that he had a good enough reason. Mattie moves away and starts her own cake decorating business. She gets a new boyfriend, but is there love? An accident brings Mattie home to Gideon, but what about her boyfriend? and Gideon's deceit? Gideon is also working for Beth and/or Jonah. It was fun to catch up with them throughout the second story! It is also mentioned that Lizzy, who was Beth's meddling aunt, has news as well.
The third story is about Sadie and Levi. Neither of them want to get married, so they devise a plan they think is perfect. It stops the meddling, but at the cost of their hearts. Beth, Jonah, Mattie, Gideon, and Lizzy are all in this installment as well. There are also many other people places from Apple Ridge that show up in all 3 stories.
Cindy also has a book called "The Scent of Cherry Blossoms" that takes place in Apple Ridge. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for this book! Please read more about her books here http://www.cindywoodsmall.com/ !
The book was well written and hard to put down. I am definitely in the holiday mood, and I want to go for a sleigh ride now :)
