If you've had a chance to visit Temecula, California, you'd be one of many who have had the privilege of watching hot air balloons take flight during sunrise and descend at sunset, walking the grounds of one of the most beautiful rose gardens in California, and visiting a rare and noble tree that looks to have stood the test of time. You will find some of the most popular and heavily visited sights in Temecula, beautifully illustrated and captured in child-like conversation.
RJ’s Adventures in Temecula is a vibrantly colored board book featuring thirteen of Temecula’s most visited attractions. The illustrations jump off the page, offering children fun images to look at while learning more about Temecula, California’s historic sights.
Beware. Your child may ask to visit some of the attractions presented in this 20-page book, such as Professor Pennypickles' Workshop or the Sugarplum Zoo and Chocolates. Come visit for a week, but first, do your research and take this adventure around Temecula, California with RJ.

Where are you
from?
I was born in the Ivory Coast and raised in different countries on the west
coast of Africa before relocating to the United States, which has been my home
for almost two decades now.
Tell us your
latest news?
I recently
published my first children’s book titled ‘RJ’s Adventures in Temecula’. It is
a large board book full of color, so it can be enjoyed by pre-K through
elementary-grade children. I have been honored to attend different events
promotingthe beautiful community of Temecula through my book
When and why
did you begin writing?
My reading
journey started back in 1999, I was a little girl passionate about literature.
I felt a sense of fulfillment writing poetry and sketches about nature, school
and travels. Writing has always been my way to express and record the
everlasting beauty of life, people, nature and travels.
When did you
first consider yourself a writer?
Even though I
wrote this book and participated in each step, from accompanying the
photographer to each site and going over scenes with the illustrator, I don’t
think I considered myself a writer until the launch of RJ’s Adventures in
Temecula.
What inspired
you to write your first book?
While living and
working in Temecula, I was fortunate to visit great places and meet
grandparents, parents, and children during my ‘day’ job. Hearing grandparents share
growing-up-in-Temecula stories with their grandkids and seeing parents
introduce their children to reading in the library was heartwarming.
Each interaction
confirmed the beautiful feeling of community. Temecula as a whole is warm and
welcoming, with mutual support, beautiful traditions, and values thatits people
hold dear.
It is that sense
of community that inspired me to write about some of their hidden gems.
What would
you like my readers to know?
RJ’s Adventures
in Temecula is here to help you cherish old memories and create new ones,
highlighting the unique places children and parents love in Temecula. Also,
this book celebrates local talents as its illustrator and photographer are from
the Temecula area.
A resident of Temecula, California, known for its wineries, Mrs. Legre-Zigre was inspired by her own child to find and highlight family- and child-friendly attractions in her city. Some of these attractions are featured in her debut book.
