Interview questions for Leanne

1.  When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
When I first realized I wanted to be a writer and publish my own book is when it was brought to my attention by one of my mentors just a couple years ago. She made me realize that it was possible for me to be able to share my ideas, knowledge or story to the world and it could actually help someone who reads it and possibly make a positive difference in their life. She helped me really dig deep and realize the bigger picture of writing a book, which was great because I always loved to write anyways ever since I was a younger.
2.  How long does it take you to write a book?
It usually depends on the specific book, but when I first started writing books it would take me almost a year where as now, I can write a book in less then a month mainly just because I’ve cut out procrastination.
3.  What is your work schedule like when you're writing?
I personally enjoy writing in the morning because that is when my mind is fully functional and creativity just flows for me. Usually when I try to write in the evening or at night its less effective for me because I’m already starting to get into a relaxed mode.
4.  How do books get published?
There are different ways books get published. I personally self-publish my books, and there are different ways an author can self-publish there books also (for example: createspace or kindle).
5.  Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?
Just from learning and experiencing life myself. I’m a firm believer in constant ongoing education however that may be, even if it’s just reading a bunch of books, taking online classes, anything at all. I love to learn and so all of my information or ideas usually come from wither what I’ve learned or something I’ve experienced.
6.  When did you write your first book and how old were you?
I started to write my first real book at age 23 and it        started out as a personal journal/diary of which had      reminders or important lessons to remember which basically       evolved into the book Trust the Process.
7.  What do you like to do when you're not writing?
I absolutely love spending time with my family when I’m not writing. I also love to travel, read, learn and try new experiences or expose myself to something I may have had interest in but have never done.
8.  What does your family think of your writing?
My family supports me as a writer and they are so loving and proud of anything I create or come up with.
9.  What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?
I learned that creating a book from start to finish (for me) was a process which took a lot of hard work, dedication, and persistence but I am thankful to of learned that now because it made me a stronger author. Back then it was a learning process for me, so it was a lot more difficult but now that I’ve gone through it, experienced writing a book and learned so many different things from other authors, I gained a much better understanding and found what process works best for me.
10.             How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
I’ve written about 5 books but so far only 1 has turned into a “real” book, meaning went through the full process of turning into the real thing. I still have a few typed up in rough that I’m sure I will revisit once the time is right, but for now Trust the Process is my favorite because it’s a fun and an easy but valuable book. I take it with me everywhere and read one quick chapter a day.
11.             Do you have any suggestions to help me become a better writer? If so, what are they?
Just believe in yourself and never give up when you reach any obstacles because they are all just apart of the process. It’ll all be worth it in the end if you just BELIEVE in yourself and keep going no matter what.
1     12.             As a child I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up.
As a child I wanted to be teacher when I grew up.
13.             What would you like my readers to know?
That I am just so grateful and I thank any and everyone for their support! Xo
