Bio:
Born and raised on the outskirts of Toronto, Ontario Amy fled the big city to settle down with the country boy of her dreams. When she's not furiously typing away at her computer, she's a mom to three wonderful children, who have given her another job as a taxi driver.
A voracious reader, she was given her first romance novel by her grandmother who shared her penchant for a hot romance. From that moment, Amy was hooked by the magical worlds, handsome heroes and sigh worthy romances contained in the pages and she knew what she wanted to be when she grew up.
Life got in the way, and after the birth of her second child, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a romance author.
Amy loves to hear from readers. It makes her day, in fact. You can find out more about Amy at:

Blurb:
Jared Stevens hasn't been the same since he was shot. His duty is to marry a Mukswa woman and be a strong leader. He lets the elders of his clan choose his bride, because the woman he wants is only in his fantasies, the only woman who brings him to exquisite release.
Adele Banks loved being a Mountie, but one shot ended her career and altered her world forever. Adele is determined to make a life for herself. She's hired to recover Beare Enterprises embezzled funds, but what she didn't count on is being extremely attracted to her client when meeting him for the first time as he's naked in his shower.
Adele is Jared's mystery woman, but she's taboo. He bonds to her, but has to keep his society secret, as much as he wants to mark her as his own.
As Jared fights his own inner beast, remnants of the prior chief's wrath is affecting the clan and Adele. To save Adele's life, Jared may just have to betray his clan's secret and risk his heart.

Excerpts:
Excerpt 1 PG
He looked down at his hands. At least his claws were still intact, but he couldn’t draw them. How the hell was he supposed to protect his clan or even mark his mate for that matter without that ability?
“If I tell them they’ll strip me of my heritage. Males of my father’s family have always been chief. The line of my ancestors can’t end here.”
Étienne snorted and nodded. “Understood. If they want you to shift…”
“Tell them the bullet wound still pains me and shifting is dangerous. I don’t need to link telepathically with any of them tonight.”
“Very well. Anything else I need to know before you go in front of the council and I start guard duty?”
“A private investigator is coming to help me with tracking down the stolen funds.”
Étienne’s brow furrowed. “An outsider?”
“My brother-in-law recommended her.”
“A female?” Étienne asked in surprise.
“She isn’t like Mukswa females. She’s a private investigator who worked with the RCMP, but branched out on her own.”
Étienne didn’t look convinced. “You should’ve let me investigate her background.”
“My decision is final,” Jared snapped. “My judgment is sound. I am chief.”
Étienne’s black eyes glittered, but he nodded and lowered his head in deference.
Jared instantly regretted his outburst. Lately all he seemed to be doing was spouting off at random and he hated it.
A chief was supposed to be calm, cool and collected.
He was a wreck.
“Let’s get this over with,” he muttered as he pushed the button on his private elevator. He just wanted tonight to be done.
Tonight he’d let the elders choose his future mate. Perhaps then he could move on.

My Review:
There are so many shifter books written today that it is hard to find one that sticks out. This was an adult story with adult situations. This was different for me because it was bears and the chief was unable to shift. He was shot, and his business was falling apart. This was a business mystery about bear shifters and a love story. Jared is a broken man. He needs true love to awaken his animal instincts. When Adele finds the thief her life is in danger. Jared can shift, but is it in time? Etienne is Jared's next in command and of course his disapproves of Adele. She is a human. Will Adele be able to accept the man she loves, after he shifts in front of her? Will she ever be accepted?
I liked the side plots and I really liked the love story. It was a short and easy read. I would like to see Etienne finding love in a sequel.
I am giving this book a 3/5. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own!

Author Interview:
1.      Is this a sequel? Will there be more books in a series?
Yes, this is a sequel to Mounted Release, but the books can be read standalone. As for more books about my bear shifters, there’s one more in the works so far. Since the third hero kind of surprised me by bursting into Private Release who knows who will show up in the third book! J
2.      What paranormal characters are in the book?
Bear shifters and not just grizzly. The Mukswa clans of shifters are worldwide, though I’m mostly focusing on Canada. There are black bears, grizzlies, Kodiaks, but the hero in Private Release is a polar bear.
3.      How are your paranormal characters different from others?
Well, my first bear shifter was a Mountie, but I’m not sure that counts. I haven’t read a lot of shifter books before I wrote Mounted Release and Private Release. There’s no fated mates issue in my books. They fall in love and when my shifters fall in love they basically mate for life, but it’s not fated or destined to be. Not that I have a problem with those, but I think that’s how mine are different. I’ve also chosen bears as opposed to wolves or cats. Though I see bears are becoming popular! J
4.      What influenced your characters?
Mounted Release was written for the Oh, Canada call at Ellora’s Cave. I wanted to do a shifter and I wanted it to be a Canadian animal. Wolves were done a lot and I wanted something different. When I was trying to think of Canadian animals I came up with bear, beaver, moose or loon. What choice did I have? LOL Besides, I love bears even though I’m a bit scared of them, they are beautiful creatures.
5.      What would you like my readers to know?
Well, I’m a brand spanking new author for Harlequin Medical Romance. My debut Harlequin Medical Safe in His Hands is due out September 1, 2013. If you like Grey’s Anatomy then these romances are for you. My debut book may not be as erotic as my Ellora’s Cave releases, but they’re still a spicy, romantic read.
