Whatever it Takes by Lindsay Paige book review

My Review:
I was given the opportunity to review this book, and all opinions are my own. This story really tugs at your heart strings because it is a story that almost every woman has gone through, losing a baby, and what it can do to a woman. The feeling of loss, wondering what could have been, and having no idea how you are ever going to fill the empty void in your heart. This is is what happens to Emily and Jake. Emily has lost a child, and she is a broken woman. Jake has also lost a child, but he doesn't feel it the same way that Emily does. He also has no clue how to make Emily feel better. He is a good man and loves Emily completely. Is his love enough?
Can love ever be enough in a life changing experience? After another life changing experience Emily and Jake decide how they want to live their lives.

Book Summary:
Their first year of college isn’t what they expected. Emily is still struggling with the loss of her baby, while Jake seems to have no trouble with it at all. Emily is so conflicted about how to deal with the miscarriage. On top of that, she’s having nightmares.
Can Jake help his Sweetness? Will she allow him? Their relationship is suffering and Jake is determined to do whatever Emily asks of him. But when Emily makes a suggestion that she feels will help with her grief, could it tear the couple apart forever?
Book Excerpt:
It seems it is time for me to fess up. Maybe this is the time to share with Jake the
items I take out every now and then.
            No.
The thought echoes and bounces around my head. That is
something I can’t and won’t do just yet. Taking a deep breath, I share
more with Jake. Everything comes out too quickly and tears
overflow. I tell him how terrified I am of getting pregnant and losing
another baby. To make him understand why I am scared and sad over
this tragedy, I explain to him about how the baby was the only being
that was a combination of us both. Jake wraps both arms around me
and kisses the crown of my head.
“Sweetness, think about the sunrise we watched that day at
the cabin. You said that no matter what, we were worth fighting for.
You have to fight. You need to remember that we are going to make
the best of the situation together. Don’t forget that you promised you
wouldn’t run away from me. We promised each other that we would
work through this together. Keep that in mind Sweetness.”

Author Bio:
Lindsay Paige is a young adult romance author from North Carolina. Most of what Lindsay writes are her daydreams in lavish details. (Please excuse that fact when you read one of her future works about a girl who sleeps around.;)) When not writing, she is working to prepare for college.
Lindsay loves to read, listen to music, watch and play tennis, along with watching her favorite hockey team, the Pittsburgh Penguins. Lindsay is a big fan of Sidney Crosby (87) and buys Penguins merchandise whenever she can.
Lindsay loves to be around her family and best friends. One summer after viewing a video of Nicholas Sparks' house, Lindsay's mother made the comment that she should write a bestselling novel since she "reads so much", that way they could have a beautiful house as well. Lindsay took her comment to heart. She began working on Sweetness. A year later, the novel was complete.
Many of the aspects of the characters in Sweetness were inspired by Lindsay's own struggles, such as a recovering alcoholic father and the anxiety Emily suffers because of her past.
Lindsay has published Sweetness and I'm Yours, and Whatever It Takes.
