Glade House Party!!! Giveaway!

I was lucky enough to win a host spot in the Glade Design the Air House Party! I loved glade before, and I still do! I had so much fun at the party and I would gladly recommend the new scents! I really liked the fuji apple and cardamon spice, but it was a big hit at the party!!!

We made lazy lasagna, which is basically regular pasta and you put the cheeses on top afterwards!

Are these not the most gorgeous flowers you have ever seen? My sister picked them up for me (as the host YAY) and I have to say....... These flowers were unbelievably pretty. They even made a statement when I brought them home and put them on my fireplace!

Getting ready to eat! This is the sideways view of the oil diffuser. It is really compact. I was actually lucky enough that my hubby won the lavender and juniper berry oil diffuser. We have it in our bedroom and I LOVE IT! It completely makes the room smell good. It is such a nice smell to wake up to!

This is one of the party tables! The kiddos had a lot of fun making words with the magnets! So did a lot of the adults. LOL... I liked Love makes life happy. I have it on my fridge now!

This is the game we played. Each of these "perfume bottles" were sprayed with the air fresheners, and guests made up silly names for the scents. My favorite was breakfast in bed for the cotton and Italian mandarin (reminded someone of when they spilled orange juice on their clean sheets) LOL!

This is how you take the starter kit apart. It is really cool and easy to do..... (Even with a chipped wrist bone) Unscrew the bottle and pull out the can. pop in new can and rescrew base! tada! I also like the fact that you only buy the plastic once, and keep reusing it to save on the environment. To spray the can you squeeze it, rather than the button being on the top, which is also more comfortable.

Love lifted me by Sara Evans with Rachel Hauck book review

This is a story about a woman's love for her husband and a child. It is not her child, but the love is so strong that it does not matter. She is totally and utterly the mother of this child, in every way, but genetically. This is also a story about how a husband messed up, and changed his wife's world forever. But in messing up, he unleashed the powerful christian woman that his wife knew she was meant to be. Through love, forgiveness and mutual respect, love can overcome anything.
This book was written by Sara Evans and Rachel Hauck. They have written a few books together and seem to be a very good team. Through affairs, DNA tests, change of careers, and moving, this couple still manages to make the best of their life, for them and their child. Jade, the main character and woman in the book, is truly an amazing person. She is such a strong character. I am curious to know if she is in their other books. If anyone has started over, or needs to start over, then this book is for them. There are so many different twists and turns in this book, that you really have to read it to truly understand it. I really liked it!

My Christmas tree

So, this was the fist year that we had our tree upstairs in front of our window seat. Because of our 6 cats, we only put non breakable ornaments up. Yes, there were a few times that a cat climbed the tree, but luckily it never tipped over :) Those are my Islnd of Misfit Toys ornament :)

My family rocks!

Today my family threw me a 30th bday party! I was all smiles as My niece and nephew decorated the house with balloons and ELmo streamers! I got red roses and pink hydrangeas! My sisters chipped in and got me a Pandora with charms! My hubby got me a ninja back massager with heat.... along with some gift cards and stuff for my greenhouse, it was a wonderful day!
I was sad that my dad wasn't there.He always found me some obscure scooby doo collectors item for my bday. My mom gave me a cameo that my dad had given her, and some pearls as well. He was there, I just wish I could talk to him.
All in all,my family knows me pretty well! Thanks you guys for my 30th bday!!!!!

One thing that I worry about with my kids is that they don't even play with half of the toys that I already have. I guess that kids are always that way, though. But I don't want them to miss out on any toys that we already have just because they're lost in all of the mess so I had them make a New Year's resolution with me to come up with a way to organize their playroom.

One part I was worried about was buying some new organizational things to put in there because the current set up obviously hasn't worked for a while. While I was online looking up some of that stuff, I ran across some info on Sears Doors. After I looked through it a little bit I decided to get them to replace our doors. The ones we have now are looking a little worn anyway.

I think that the hardest part may be convincing the kids to part with some of their old toys. We still haven't gotten to that point yet.

The Canary List by Sigmund Brouwer

I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review!
What a good choice I made. At first glance I thought that this was a book about being hunted by past demons. I thought these demons would be something more real or maybe even a person from Jaimie's past. I could not have been more wrong. If you liked the DaVinci code for the pure thrill of reading it, then you will like this book. It delves into the inside workings of becoming Pope and the inner demons of the church.

In the middle of all this is a "friend" that Jaimie goes to for help. this friend is no other than her teacher Mr Grey. He has a whole lot of issues of his own. Needless to say he is key to Jaimie's happiness.

As you travel through the book you are caught up in a web that you do not want to let go of. Towards the end of the book everything becomes clear. However you still have a need for more. I is not because you are not satisfied with the ending, but because you do not want to leave the characters yet.
As you can tell, I was a fan of this book. The "Canary list" did not fully explain itself until the last chapter. Then, just to mess with the reader there is a twist at the end, and the last sentence makes you question the whole book, and yourself!

It is almost the new year! Shop Rite has the Can Can sale this week, and alot of my shows are coming back on! Rumors are that Brendan and Rachel fom Big Brother are going to be on the Amazing Race. I love Rachel. Even when no1 else liked her. I am sad tho because it looks like it will be the same time as once upon a time...... What am I gonna do. this messes up my line up........ ugh

Christmas~ I was so sad this Christmas, we finally put our tree up, but it isn't the same without my dad. I do wish all my readers a very merry Christmas a a safe and blessed new year.
Christmas cards~ I took last years cards and saved the written part, ripped on the fold, and sent the picture part out as a postcard. I saved money on stamps!
Kiddos~ was worth the store waiting, line waiting, wrapping and spending, to see the smiles on the 3 kiddos faces :)
Shocker~ I am always sick every Christmas... never fails.... this year the kiddos were sick and I got sick the day after.... no sales for me :(
Best deal of the season for me was a keurig for $20 :) which since I am sick I LOOOOOOOOOOOve!
My poor sisters, 1 has 2 sick kiddos and the other had some personal stuff going on. this year will be better. I know IT! it has to be. Also this was the first Christmas (in three) that we didn't have to put down a pet.... knock on wood....

Haunted Estate Sale Book Review by Elkossei Ashraf

I was given this book to review from www.dorrancebookstore.com for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.
I love a good horror story! and that is what this was. I really enjoyed how evil the 2 angry spirits were. I also liked all the different ways that they got revenge. It was definitely creative. There were times when I was scared. lol.
However I did not like all the jokes. The jokes, to me, took away from the story line. A few would have been ok, but there were way to many. Then other characters started joking, not just the main character. Some of the jokes were very funny. I also very much liked the ending of the book. I would definitely recommend this book to any horror reader!
I also think that there was a typo on page 240, line 32. It states "....enough candy here beside the front doo". I think the word doo is supposed to be door.

Departures Book Review

I was given the opportunity to review the book Departures by Robin Jones Gunn. The book focuses on 2 stories. 1 about Christy Miller and the other is about Sierra Jensen. I chose this teen fiction book, because lately I have been reading really spiritual books and I wanted a fun book. I had thought that the book would be about the two characters mentioned above Crossing paths (as it eluded to on the back of the book). However the focus was on their seperate lives and vacations. After their vacations their part of the book was over. There was no finale. I kind of felt that I was missing something. You get to know the characters so well, and then its over. I loved the writing of the book, and I liked the plots. I just wish that the plots were closed better. However the author has written other books about these 2 characters and also offers book collections. I think that this would be a great summer reading program for teens, because they would have to read the next book in order to fully get the story.

Bryton Flossers Review

I have received 2 free bryton flossers for the purpose of this review. I wanted to try these because I wanted floss that was reusable. I carried the flosser in my purse and used it after every meal. I liked that it was kept clean by wiping with a napkin. I also like that it was flat and compact. It worked very well and is easy to use. I had thought that the metal would be too sharp, but I was never cut. If I could suggest a few things I would include a mini sealable ziplock baggie to keep the flosser in. It comes with a pouch to carry it, but the pouch is open on one side. The way my purse is I was afraid that the flosser would become contaminated. I was also thinking that maybe some sort of alcohol wipes would also keep the flosser cleaner.

I have to admit. i didn't like it. I didn't like the format (audio file) and I didn't like the background noise (waterfalls etc). I would have rather had something written. I was lost within 10 minutes. The only thing I got was really relaxed. Although if it is through hypnosis then for all I know it worked perfectly.
I liked that it was about 30 minutes long, any longer and I think it would have been overkill.
All in all it did have good info, I just didn't like how they supplied it.

Pregnancy 2.0 Giveaway

I cannot believe what a great company pregnancy 2.0 is. Seriously I am so extremely in awe and all the stuff they sent me to check out! I was given a Britax Baby Carrier, a Britax B-Agile Stroller and 1 B-Safe Infant car seat. I was extremely excited to get these. Britax is such good quality, and are rated for a higher speed in safety car crash ratings!!! If I wanted the safest for my child, then I would have picked these. I actually know a few people that had these on their baby registries! As if this wasn't enough (and I mean seriously I was soooooooooooooooo excited already) The boxes kept coming. Then I got a Baby Plus PreNatal Educational System. This is really awesome because it is something I truly believe helps out kiddos. When my sister and Sister in law were pregnant I talked to their bellies, and I believe that we bonded. Now they have this educational belt to wear, that is wicked awesome! Then another box came! I couldn't believe it! The last box contained 10 spry gum; 10 KID'S Xclear Saline Nasal Spray with Xylitol; 10 KID'S Spry Tooth Gel; (Brochures and coupons for the mommy party I hosted); An Ogio Diaper bag (which looks wicked cool for crochet (so many pockets! and good quality~!); 2 Rashti & Rashti Snuggle buddies; 1 reusable shopping bag; and 10 Gift Bags for my party guests! Can you believe all my goodies? While I gave a lot of the items away at my party, I still have the Baby Plus Pre-Natal Education System saved for the purpose of this Giveaway!

This is BoBo in the stroller (up to 60 pounds)! The stroller is like a "jogging" stroller. It has wheels in back, and 1 wheel in front. I LOVE this stroller. 1 button to open it and close it. and it completely turns around (which is good because I am known to run people over. lol) It is really easy to steer, and to change the position. There is also a back pocket for my wallet, etc. I also noticed that the basket underneath for storage is made from real plastic, rather then mesh! So may times I went shopping with my sister and bags were too big/ heavy for her stroller!

Happy Thanksgiving (retro style lol)

Well Thanksgiving is over. Shockingly I am not ready for Christmas. I went out on Black Friday and finally got back into my sleep schedule today. This year we decided to not wait outside, but rather we planned on being at each store an hour after they opened. We figured that if we missed deals then we could price match at Wal-Mart or try Cyber Monday. It was not worth the craziness to me. I am already crazy enough! We went to Toys R'Us first at midnight. They had everything we were looking for! We lucked out and we so excited! We were there until 2am. Then we were going to go to Wal-Mart, but there was still a line, so we went to Kohl's instead! Big mistake on my part!!! Spent to much money! I got $90 in Kohl's cash ($15 for every $50). So yes I spent $300. However I got the main thing on my shopping list. A Keurig Elite! It was on sale for $107. I also got a lot of gifts for the men that I needed desperately. I also got some really nice jewelry. Then the toys were such a good price, I decided to stock up for birthdays next year. My sister took the Kohl's cash ( I owed her $$ from a previous shopping trip lol). So I got my Keurig for $107 - the $90!!! I got my Keurig for $17!!!!!!!!! Then we were gonna go to Wal-Mart, but there were a lot of cops there, so I chickened out. We decided to go to my sister's house and rest for an hour before Home Depot opened!....My sister fell asleep, so we went with my bro-in-law instead! OMG the sales at Home Depot were crazy! I was able to finish all the guys up, except for 1 or 2 gifts! My bro-in-law got really cool evergreen wreaths for $5 only! Then we went home!
Yesterday my brother had Santa at his house (go to my mom's site www.3partnersinshopping.blogspot.com for pics) and all the kiddos were there!

Thanksgiving. yup. It is true. 2011 is coming to a close. This will be my second year of blogging. Every year about this time I go crazy about shopping for gifts. This year I have not shopped that much. Now I regret it. There are so many birthdays and holidays coming up in Oct, Nov, and Dec. I hardly have a stock pile of gifts like I used to. I have also decided not to go out on Black Friday. With Cyber Monday and stores opening on thursday, I don't see the need for that madness. Also I had a bad experience 2 years ago, and the cops had to take care of the lines..... Too much drama for me. lol. As the Holidays come up, I would love to wish my readers and their families a blessed season, and wish you all safe holidays.

Love & Respect Experience Book Review!

I was given a copy of this book by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs for the purpose of this review from www.booksneeze.com . However all opinions are my own!
While reading the recap about the book, I decided to read it because my husband and I went to church a lot in the past. I figured that this would be good for both of us to reconnect. The book states " A Husband-Friendly Devotional that Wives Truly Love". I totally agree. The advice is evenly given for men and women throughout the book. The advice is given in a respectful way, and is given from a married man. (Easier to connect to the readers).
The format of the book makes the book extremely easy to read. There are 52 chapters that are meant to be read once a week. I can totally see couples going to church, then coming home to read their weekly chapter. Each Chapter also has an "insight". The insight is basically a one sentence recap of the main theme of the chapter. At the end of ever chapter is a prayer section and an action section. I also thought that this was a great idea because the couple then gets to pray together and act upon what they have read.
There was so much good information in the book that related to the bible. However the book was more about your marriage with religion, rather then a religious marriage.
These are some of the memorable quotes that I hope to never forget:
"INSIGHT: One verbal punch usually begets a verbal counterpunch. Use words wisely." page 34
"INSIGHT: What "seems right" can ruin everything. Get the facts!" page 62

There are also discussion questions for each chapter at the end of the book. All in all I really enjoyed this book, and feel that it had useful information.

MAM Rock-A-Bye Baby Party!!

I was given the opportunity to host a MAM Rock-A-Bye Baby Party! I wish we had these products when the kiddos were little. My Godchild was a little upset that she was too big to "play" with the other babies. So she used baby alive as her baby, and she was the mommy! It worked out pretty good, because many moms did not want their pictures online! These are the products:
This is a glow in the dark orthodontic pacifier. 2 come in a pack, and lets just say, when we lost power, sweetie was still able to play with her baby alive. lol They have different ages as well. there are 2+months and 6+months.
This is the Cooler for back teeth for 4+ months. Good for coordination as well!

This is sweetie using the First step training toothbrush. This has a long enough handle for parents as well as the child to brush together, in order to promote good brushing. This brush also comes with a smaller second step First Brush for the child to hold on their own! Sweeties dentist has told mommy that kids at her age are still learning to brush, so I thought this would be a perfect aid in helping her learn!
This is sweetie feeding baby alive. ( we later had to change her diaper!) The bottles were easy to hold and the nipples had a good flow. There is a vented base to reduce colic and The bottles also fit inside themselves in order to be microwave sterilized without a separate sterilizer!! In 3 Minutes!!! There is more info at mambaby.com . I thought this was awesome because if you are on vacation and need to clean the bottle, most hotels let you ask for a microwave. All you need is water.
These are the containers that the pacifiers came in. I sterilized all the stuff for the party and realized that the containers made perfect drying racks!

We served family style ziti, with m sister's homemade sauce! There was "baby spaghetti", but I was too slow to get a picture before it was gone! LOL

All in all I had a lot of fun hosting the party and I learned a lot about the MAM products.

I reviewed the book "Put the Seat Down" {And Other Brilliant Insights for an Awesome First Year of Marriage} by Jess Maccallum

When I got married my dad told my soon to be hubby to get a notebook. In this mental notebook would include things that my dad would tell the men of the family how to "be good hubbies". Every time my hubby and I disagreed, my dad would say "You didn't read your notebook". I can only assume that this book contains some of the things that my dad told my hubby. Some of them are so funny. I laughed so hard I cried. The book suggests that the hubby should put the seat down, and never leave the toilet paper roll empty. He should also ask before he makes plans, and talk about her day first. I was laughing so hard because some people would consider this overkill. Let's face it, men are men. I would not have my hubby any other way. There are a lot of things in the book that my hubby does not do, (he drives 99% of the time, and he never opens the door for me), but he knows the kind of woman I am, and he does what I need him to do.
All in All, I would suggest this book for newly weds. or people that move in together. If there is a strong connection, then there will be one in the future as well. Even as a Wife's needs change. There are religious passages and at the end of each chapter there are bulleted items reminding men how to be awesome! I would even bet that if every engaged man read this book, then there would be less arguing the first year of marriage. I remember all the arguments we had over the small stuff! I rate this book 5 out of 5 :)

Great Read!! Check your attics!!

I received the book Diary in the Attic by Cindy L. Freeman from Dorrance Publishing. The review is my own as are all opinions.

I loved this book. I read it around Halloween, and I bought a house with an attic in the past 5 years. It was such a good read. It was believably scary. I got swept up and had to know the ending. There is a surprising ending, that really made the book for me. I did not expect it, but it made the book! The characters are fun to read about and you end up feeling bad for the "evil co-worker". We can all relate to having evil co-workers, but can we relate to being called to their deathbed? There are a few plots to follow, but they are easily solved. For a short book it is packed full of good writing!
My only regret is that this book wasn't longer. I would be very happy to read a sequel where they find more items in the attic!

Extraordinary by John Bevere book Review

All in all this was a very inspiring book. I found it very enlightening. At the end of each chapter there is a section for reflection, and questions. As a christian I found alot of connections thru my beliefs and this book.
However, to quote from the book on page 2 the artist states "ponder this a moment: the opposite of extraordinary is normal". That is the basis of this whole book. What can you do more? How can you not be normal? I did not agree with this message. As a Christian I believe in God, and I believe that God loves you... no matter how normal you are. Technology crisis!

So after Hurricane Irene hit I lost power for 4 days. I have a chest freezer, a stand up freezer, and a fridge/freezer. I lost 3 freezers worth of food. ugh. But no one was hurt and it was only food. (why I should have a eat out your freezer week). Now we got the really bad snow storm. It is day 4 without power. I am at a hotel using wifi. It is so hard reaching loved ones. Cells phones are a life saver. I am thinking back to when people relied on snail mail and had to wait weeks, months or years to hear from family. My immediate family all lives within 30 minutes of one another. I can not imagine how people live so far away. That would drive me batty(more then I am already). We didn't have power on Halloween :( it makes me sad to think that it was my dad's favorite holiday (he used to get dry ice, scare kids, dress up, play music... etc etc). As I thought about this I was at my sisters house. She had no power, but a fireplace (me too) and I was sleeping over to help with the kiddos. As I looked around the room, I saw a beautiful sight, and I knew that my dad was enjoying his favorite holiday from heaven. I saw my oldest sister light more candles then she has in her whole lifetime, I saw my brother and his wife sleep deprived from having a baby and no hot water to warm bottles or food, my other sister taking care of our pets, and my mom. we were all completely exhausted, but we were together. all it took was a smile from one of the kids to make us all laugh. my dad knew we were all together. And that is what matters! Family

30 Day Blog Challenge Finale

ok, these are the last few days of the challenge. phew!
Day 27~ A problem you have, or have had in the past.~ Like many people I have problems with my weight.
Day 28~ Something that you miss ~ I miss working. I miss working with the public, and I miss the routine.
Day 29~ List 10 people, dead or alive, that you would invite to dinner. Include the menu. This is an easy one. I would invite my dad. I would also invite my 2 sisters and my brother. My mom too, That is 5. My brother's father in law, and my sister's in laws (all 3 passed away before they could meet their grandkids). My nieces and Nephew. I would love to see my dad hold his grandkids again. I would also love for the kiddos to meet their other grandparents. I wouldn't need to invite anyway famous, because my dad got along with everyone, and he can tell us all about the people in heaven. The menu is also easy. Corn on the Cob, and SALT. There were so many times that I went out with my dad and told him not to eat salt, because of his health. I would also have ice cream for the kiddos!
Day 30~ Goals for the next 30 days~ be more consistent!

Experience Boston Tourism Guide Review

I was given the opportunity to review this e-book. I went to Salem for my honeymoon, and we did a lot of sight seeing (it was October 24th). We also went to Quincy Market. I wish that I had this guide then, because I would have visited the Gardens. We also would have visited the Freedom Trail. We did do the Duck Boat Tours and we enjoyed them very much. However we did all the planning on our own and could have saved a lot of time, had we used this guide. We had chosen to go to Quincy Market because we had previously been there in 6th Grade on a field trip. It was very sentimental to us. We had done more of the Halloween activities, had we known, we could have done some of the things mentioned in this guide. Some of the things we walked right by. We are also Red Sox fans and have been to a game. I agree with the author of this guide that seeing Fenway Park live is worth the trip!

Beginning Rhythm Review

I recommend this very highly. I can not believe how much information is included in what you get. I found that even I am interested in playing these games with the kiddos. There are so many different games, and so many different versions to play. Even if you only use the flash cards, then it is a great addition to any musical thematic unit. There are measure cards and bingo. Everything is included. There are also instructions on how to make the kit more durable. The creator of the kit also has videos on how to use the product. This is a fool proof way to introduce music into the classroom, even if you know nothing about music.

Where Has Oprah Taken Us Book Review

I received this book from Booksneeze in exchange for an honest review. All Opinions are my own.
Well what can I say. I didn't like it. This book is about Oprah, her religious beliefs, and her followers. There is also a lot of information about Oprah that I did not know before. The book was well written and very informative. I feel as though it lacked an ending. Oprah is not done yet, and is still taking us places. I also feel as though Oprah is just like any other baby boomer, in regards to religious beliefs. She is different because she is famous, and people tend to listen to her, no matter what she is saying. No doubt that she is extremely talented and well known. However who is really following her? Are people really following or are they just going along for the ride? I also feel as though this could have been a book about Oprah, rather then about her religion.
Stephen Mansfield is the author. He starts the book by stating that he is catholic, and that there may be some bias involved. I respect that he told me this, but it made me think that the bias is big enough to have to tell his readers. Wherever Religion is concerned there usually is bias.
All in all the book was a good read, It just did not keep me interested. I learned a lot about Oprah and religion. I also feel that the main theme of the book was that Oprah has the power to reach people. No matter what she is doing.

30 Day Blog Challenge

Ok, if anything this challenge made me see that I need to post more often. I really am going to try hard to post every day. Here is what I missed
Day 20~ Thurs~ How important you think education is~I think that Education is very important. I think that College is good to have under your belt. Even if you don't find a job in your field, you never know when your education may come in handy. I also think that people should try to learn 1 new thing a day. Even if they learn it by playing Jeopardy!
Day 21~One of my favorite TV shows. My favorite of all time is Highlander. I also love Desperate Housewives, and Quantum Leap. I love Charmed as well.

Day 24~Your favorite movie and what it is about. I LOVE the movie Clue. Tim Curry stars. I know the movie line by line. Every time I lmao. It is a feel good movie that always makes me smile. There are 3 different endings, and each one is just as funny as the others. Even to this day I quote lines from the movie. So do my siblings. If you haven't seen it, then I suggest that you watch it. Day 25~ Someone who fascinates me and why. I am fascinated by Ken Jennings. Seriously He is really smart. I would like to know how much he really knows that was never asked on Jeopardy. He should teach people how to remember things like he does.
Day 26~ If I had $1,000,000 how would I spend it. Well first I would pay off my house, and my mom's. Then I would buy a whole roll of win for life lottery tickets ;). Then I would go on vacation. I need a spa day!

I have been putting off day 17 for 3 days now..... so here goes
Mon~ Day 17 ~ Your highs and lows of this past year.
Every day, every holiday, every house project has been a low without my dad. My parents had 3 cats and 3 dogs, that I grew up with for over 15 years. Now my mom has 2 cats. I lost 2 primaries, and spent a lot of time away from family in order to lose. Life has not been fun for me. I watched my dad die, and that it the lowest. It is the worst feeling in the world. I didn't do CPR (there were health reasons why I couldn't), but I sometimes feel that should have. No matter the consequences.

The best part of this last year was that my niece was born :). She is so beautiful and smart. She is such a blessing. My 5 year old nephew started kindergarten. He is like my adopted kiddo. lol. It was hard, but I am so proud of him. He is a completely different kid then he was a year ago. My God Daughter wants to go to school so bad. She is 4 and can play farmville and read. I mean any word I show her, she seems to know. The three of them are so spoiled. I wouldn't have it any other way!

Tues~ Day 18 ~ A book you can read over and over again and never get sick of.
Actually I have 2 :) The first 1 is the Stand by Stephen King Complete and uncut. Every time I read this book I pick up something I missed before. The other book is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin. My hubby is my Mr. Darcy! I love the story and the mom lol she is so crazy! I love to read other books about the Bennet's as well. There are a bunch of books out there that expand the story line. I actually made a 90's version (some older songs too) soundtrack for the book when I was in high school. (it got an A). lol. I also love the movie versions of these books.

Wed~ Day 19 ~ My biggest regret in life~
I have 2; Not doing CPR on my dad, and not taking a different route to my sister's house the night I was in a car accident and disabled.

Mystery in Trilogy book review

I received the book Mystery in Trilogy by Ruth G. King from Dorrance Publishing for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.

I was really excited to get the chance to review this book so close to Halloween. I love a good scary story. However the book was too short. I felt as though it should have been a part of a much bigger collection. I was so interested in this book, I read it within a day.
The stories themselves are very well written and just scary enough to make you wonder. I really enjoyed the third story "Shadows Across the Sea". This story took place in my home state of Connecticut. Even creepier was the fact that the story took place at a location that I have been too before. The story takes place (for a bit) at Mystic Marina. I will definitely think twice the next time I visit Mystic! I just wish the stories were longer, or there were more of them!

Wed- Day 12- Bullet your whole day... Well I threw out my back and was in bed all day :( figures lol I just finally went to my sisters earlier to see the kiddos :)

Thurs~ Day 13~ Somewhere you'd like to move or visit.... I really want to go to a blogging conference. I would love to go to Hersey Park, meet Stephen King, and I love visiting the kiddos. Their smiles make the rest of the world go away:)

Fri~ Day 14~ Your Earliest memory..... I am very lucky that my parents had a camcorder, so I can see myself when I was little. I remember all of us being together playing board games, or being outside. I remember my brother playing batman.. LOL... and my sisters best friend coming over (who is now married to my brother,and they have a BEAUTIFUL baby girl). I remember doing puzzles with my oldest sister (and crafts). I remember laying down on the ground and looking up at the clouds with my other sister. I remember my mom and dad always being there. I always felt safe:)

In no special order:
1. I was a contributing author in the "Illustrated Stephen King Quiz Book" (my maiden name is in the front :))
2. I started eating vegetarian when I was 13, and just started to eat meat again when I turned 27.

5. I am my families go-to person for hemming, sewing, fixing buttons (but no ironing)lol
6. I live with my hubby, our 6 cats, and my mom in law
7. I crochet :)

9. I love the Movie "Clue", I can quote it from beginning to end. I had a Clue theme for my rehearsal dinner. I sent out letters quoting the letters from the movie, and door prizes were the weapons. LOL a squirt gun for the revolver. etc... I even collect Clue board games... The Scooby Doo version is my favorite so far!
10. I love Tim Curry. I think he is hysterical
11. I love music. I want to be on a lyrics show. I will win..... lol.
12. I try to pay it forward at least once a day. Not in crazy over the top, everyone will know way. But little things. Like leaving my Aldi's cart near a Handicap spot. or leaving coupons on the shelf for items I don't use.
13. I watch very few shows on TV. Mostly reruns. CSI Miami; Desperate Housewives; Law n Order SVU my main ones. I also like Big Brother ( I am so so happy that Rachel won!!!!) Gordon Ramsey shows, and some other reality shows. I wish they would bring back The Mole.
14. I love games, gaming, and card games. I love jeopardy, wheel of fortune and game show network. I play Magic the ccg, and many other ccgs.
15. I lost my dad in 2010, and I don't think that I will ever be the same.I miss him. alot.

"Has God Spoken Book" Review

I recently finished the book "Has God Spoken" by Hank Hanegraaff. I chose to read this book because as a Catholic, I do not always make it to church every weekend, and I wanted a different insight to the Bible.
I have read excepts of the Bible, and heard excepts at church, but I have never had the chance to look into the Bible this deeply. I have read and seen "The DaVinci Code", and I like that sort of Indiana Jones kind of archeology. That is what You will find in the first half of this book.
The first half of this book is dedicated to proving the truth of the Bible through other accounts of history. Including the Dead Sea Scrolls. There is evidence in this book that proves Noah's flood, and Jesus rising on the third day. I was really interested, and at times could not put the book down. I think that if every Catholic read this, then they would have a renewed lease on their faith. As did I.
The second half of the book describes different ways to prove that the Bible is truly the word of God. Including Typology, and Prophecies.
I also liked the format of the book. There are Memorable Snapshots at the end of every chapter, to help you remember what you have read. There is also an Appendix called "The Legacy Reading Plan". The acronym LEGACY ensures that you read the whole Bible within a years time, by reading certain pages each day. I am 29 and have not read the whole Bible. This is going to be my New Year's Resolution next year (4 months away, time flies). I also encourage everyone to try it with me.

To quote what this book proves, he says on page 104 "As such, what was concealed in the soil corresponds to what is revealed in the scriptures".

In closing, I also found something that I really want to quote, and I would like to try to use this quote more in my own life. On page 224 he states "Set goals. He who aims at nothing invariably hits it".

Well I am a Capricorn. lol. Wikipedia states "Capricorn is considered an introvert sign.[1] It is also considered an earth sign and one of the four cardinal signs. I don't think that I am an introvert, although I can definitely remember times that I have been. I am an earthy person and believe that I should have n earth sign. I was a vegetarian for almost 15 years. I love to garden and I love animals. I also fit into the Synastry definition because I married a Taurus. :)

Day 7~ Your favorite childhood toys~
Well like every child of the 80s I had Cabbage Patch kids, Pound Puppies, and Glow Worms. However my favorite toy was Lil' Drowsy. (I gave her to my goddaughter now). She had a bean bag body and a plastic face. She always sat upright and was my nighttime companion. I also have collected yearly bears from Kmart/Walmart every year since I was 4. (They take up a whole utility shelf in my basement.lol). I was lucky, because I was the youngest of four kids, so I was able to play with older toys as well. I can remember playing with my sisters She Ra and my Brothers He Man. O my God and my brothers origional "real" metal transformers. we used to slide them down my mom's rope clothesline in our basement. I also enjoyed the Wuzzles (Lionkey...lol) and I liked the Snorks. lol.
My hubby loved fire trucks, and Tom & Jerry.
Just for the record, being the youngest was also tough sometimes, because my siblings stole my toys. on occassion lol. I met my future sister in law when I was 4, and I also remember playing hide and seek at her house.

I love Cream of Broccoli soup. It warms my belly.
I love vegetarian Chick Patties. They remind me that I was a vegetarian for 14 years, and I can do anything I put my mind too. Even against temptation.

3 days of the 30 Day Blog Challenge

Sunday~I spent with family reflecting on 1 thing. "Patriotism" Freedom isn't free! God Bless everyone that has been affected by 9/11. My Hubby was at Ground Zero afterwards to bring truck loads of supplies to the firefighters........ I could go on forever, but I won't.
Day 2~ Where you plan to be in 10 years ~ In 10 years I plan on being exactly where I am. A stay at home wife ;), blogger and active in my nieces and nephews lives. Also active in local politics. Also to stay Chairman of the My town's Commission on Services for Persons with Disabilities.
However I plan on my blog having more followers and being bigger. I will be 39, and hopefully I won't cry about turning 40. We will be married 16 years. I plan on using my greenhouse to have a nice summer income! I also would like to have a following that buys my crafts. I also Plan on my Disabilities Commission reaching and helping more citizens.

Monday~ Today's ~ Top 5 Pet Peeves. Maybe I should have hubby answer this 1. lol He would have more then 5. I will stick to the top 5 in my house!
1. Unevenly stacked pots/pans. For some reason it drives me friggin nuts if they are not all nested together to save room. I leave the 1 I use most on top, but come' on it saves so much room. SERIOUSLY. then they don't fall on the floor and get dirty!
2. Messed up towels/sheets. I keep sheet sets inside the pillowcases, so that when I change the bed, all I do is look for 1 pattern and grab 1 item. Also if all my towels are folded MY WAY, then they all fit on 1 shelf in the linen closet. Not so true when the hubby puts stuff away.
3. My coupons. They have to be cut, stapled and sorted a certain way. :)
4. My Garden. I have a system, and I like it. Enough said. So don't try to change it. lol
5. People parking in handicap spots that are not handicap.

Tuesday~ tomorrow I will be at the Polls all day, So I posting it now! ~(Day 4)~ My views on religion. I am Catholic. I am a Godmother. I attend church as regularly as I can. I would like to attend more often in the future.

Ok, so I have been reading other blogs that have been taking part in this challenge, and I have decided to join in the fun! If nothing else, it will remind me to post every day.
Day 1~Current Relationship~

I am happily married to my hubby. Yes we fight. Yes we are close to the 7 year itch (next year). But we are still in love. We try to only fight about what him or I do. We try not to fight about our families, although we do have heated discussions :).... I am Italian,and he is Polish :P so we get loud. lol. He has stood by me through politics, and becoming disabled.I have stood by him through losing his job. We have struggled, but it has made us stronger. We both have different views on life. We both lost our dads young. we both saw our dad's die. That was not easy. He likes polka music, and I love the 80's. We first met in grade school. My dad was the head custodian. We went on field trips together.... most notably to Quincy Market (where we returned on our honeymoon), where after my dad bought him tooooooooo many hot dogs he puked on a ride. lol That was it until I was 22.

I was minding my own business (unusual I know.lol) and my dad was a CB radio operator (mobile 5) as was my future hubby (429). I really did not talk on the CB much, but every1 I knew had a handle. Even my mom.
So 1 day he came over to fix my dad's mike (my dad was legally blind), and saw my grade school picture on the wall. He asked how I was. and 2 years later we were married. My dad, hubby and I all since got our HAM Radio license. We want kids, but that is in God's hands (a story for another day.lol.).
We think that family is really important, and we love our nieces and nephew. We spend our time on facebook, blogging and with the kiddos.
Neither of us are perfect, but through our ups and downs we have been perfect for each other :)

Menu Monday! Happy Labor Day!

Happy Labor day everyone!! I hope everyone has power, and is done with Hurricane Irene clean-up! We had no power for 3.5 days. We ran out of propane and had candle light dinners.Our cell phones. house phones and all power was lost. Even though I had power to my laptop (3 hour battery) I had no Internet to connect to. It was fun, if nothing else it was a mini vacation from the computer for me. I play waaaaaaaaaaaay too many facebook games.lol.
We cooked on the grill almost every meal. we had scrambled eggs, hamburgs, lipton sides, anything that we could figure out how to cook (and use up before they spoiled), we cooked. I now know that if we ever get lost in the wilderness, my hubby will be a good cook (hopefully we have food...lol). He was so cute cooking by flashlight, and we played board games every night. :) It was definitely nice to just chill out. I did miss talking to my mom tho, and the kiddos. My mom came to visit us.... that made me smile :)

On to meal plan Monday:
We lost a lot of freezer stuff, my sister gave me half her freezer (luckily her n the kiddos didn't lose power. neither did my brother,,, Thank God, because he has a 6 month old beautiful baby :)

Monday: bagel for lunch, and I want to try a Rachel Ray recipe for dinner. I like Rachel Ray. We met her in person, and I have a signed cookbook from her!. I do have to say that I was skeptical o her 30 minute meals because a lot of her recipes call for chopped ingredients, which takes time. However I have about 7 of her cookbooks (bought at a book sale for $1 a piece), and I wanted to give it a try, It is in the oven now. I made Sicilian stuffed eggplant. (I took out a few items, to lessen the spice.). More to come after we eat :). My hubby hand picked the eggplant at a local farm, and they cost $5.
Tues: will be at sister's for lunch/dinner. My hubby is going to add sauce to the "guts" of the eggplant recipe, and have eggplant spaghetti for lunch/dinner.
Wed: have meetings all day.we will catch something on the road. We will probably use our Subway gift Card.
Thurs: I am going to be involved in a political debate, and probably won't eat all day due to nerves. lol so toast and eggs for lunch, and a late supper of leftovers.
Fri: at my Sister's all day getting ready for tag sale. Grilled Cheese for lunch and pizza for dinner.
Sat: sandwiches and chicken for dinner! Tag Sale day!
Sun: Chicken Salad for lunch and another new recipe to try for dinner!

Amazing Race Party Printables Review

This is the pack. I always loved throwing themed parties. As a matter of fact I had a Clue movie theme for our wedding rehearsal dinner. (I am a big Tim Curry fan). So when I saw an opportunity to try out the Amazing Race theme party printables, I thought how cool. I also watch The Amazing Race and know that some of my relatives do as well. Seriously who doesn't remember Jeff and Jordan? (who are now on Big brother for a second time).
All in all the kit came complete with everything that I thought should be included from the series. I also really enjoyed the water bottle wrappers! What a cool idea. I would have liked to have seen something along the water bottle wrappers for favors and or food/ Tupperware container wrappers. However, there is a lot included in this kit, and I will be using it. I am thinking for my cookie swap in November (yes November is about 2 months away).

Funky Monkey T-Shirt Review

Book Review

I just finished reading the book Why God Won't Go Away, by Alister McGrath. I wanted to read this book because I thought that it would give me an insight to Atheism. Rather then teaching you about Atheism, you learn about the supporters of Atheism. You also get an idea of how to compare Atheism to Catholic. You also learn how Atheism has evolved over the years.

I love to read and usually can read very fast. This was a difficult book for me to read through. There were a lot of quotes and references to other books that I have not read. I also found the language to be a bit rough to read and enjoy. I felt as though I had to decipher each sentence to understand what the author was trying to tell me. There were also a lot of notes in each chapter. However the notes were in the back of the book, and I had to keep flipping back and forth. A lot of times the notes were references to even more books that I have not read. I found this book to be difficult to follow, and hardly kept me turning the pages.

However, I would highly recommend this book for someone who is doing a thesis on Atheism. There is so much information, that it just takes a long time to digest. I also feel that Atheists would enjoy this book more than I. I also learned a lot about the 4 main writers about Atheism (or the 4 Horsemen). There is also a list for further reading if you want to learn more.

If I could wrap up this book in 1 sentence it would be "......., should he thank God for Richard Dawkins in his Prayers?" on page 147. I picked this quote because it all comes down to faith. Richard Dawkins is one of the four Horsemen.

This week I chose to review the book called "Every Single Woman's battle" by Shannon Ethridge.I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.

When I first looked at this book, I thought that it would be faith more then abstinance. I will be married 6 years in October and remember all the reliious preperation that my hubby and I went through to get marriedin church. I believe that this book should be given to young woman when they are making their confirmation. This boo covers many aspects of being a woman of faith and even though I am not single, I definitely gained pespective on when I was single.
The book is well written and divided into very specific chapters. There are also quotes from the bible, as well as time for understanding the quotes. There were plenty of quotes that I never even knew existed. My favorite quote on page 85 states "bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the lord forgave you. (Colossians 3:13)". If everyone reading this review could forgive one person they are mad at, then I would be so happy to have helped.
What I liked most about this book were the "Planting Good Seeds" sections in every chapter. They gave me an opportunity to reflect on what I was reading and to look to the past as well as to my future. I enjoyed the book being about woman and how we react to certain situations, as well as how we could have reacted differently. I did not like the references to "Every Woman's Battle" and Every Man's Battle". I understand that this is a study guide, but I felt as though I was missing something. I am however glad that all three books were written by the same person. At least I know that excerpts were not taken out of context (at least I hope so). I also was a little sad that Every Man's Battle was referenced, I thought that it should be all about Woman.
All in all I really liked the book and I learned something about myself as a woman, a catholic, and a wife. If I could sum up the book in one quote it would be from page 110 "Father, thank You for creating me to be a beautiful woman, physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. I pray that Your plan will be made perfect in my life. In Jesus's name. Amen".

Weekly Review~ The Quotable Rogue~

The book that I choose to review is "The Quotable Rogue~ The Ideals of Sarah Palin In her Own Words" Edited and with a foreword by Matt Lewis.
I picked this book because I have run for office before, and I, like many, liked Sarah Palin. Therefore I was interested in hearing what she had to say.
This book is actually very easy to read, in fact it consists of quotes by Sarah Palin and there are chapters that group the quotes together for streamline reading. Sarah Palin wants her readers to know that she is politician, of course, but also a mother, a wife, and a resident of Alaska. She speaks about the election, her grandchild, and her disabled son. She also set the record straight on some misquotes.

I was a fan of Sarah Palin when she first started, as were many people. I watched Tina Fey, and laughed, and I saw the tabloids attack Sarah Palin and her family. But none of that prepared me for what I found in this book. It was like watching the whole election campaign unveil itself within hours. I learned more about Sarah with this book then I did during her debates. Maybe its because the debates are timed and you can't reread what was said, or maybe its because the newness of it all has passed. Either way I believe that the way the chapters are grouped together also helped. Sarah Palin says "What makes America exceptional isn't her politician's; it's her people" (page 5). That truly inspired me, as a previous candidate, and as a citizen. This book inspired me that Everyone makes a difference, not just those in office. The book was a good read, and I really enjoyed it. I didn't like the chapter where other people say things about Sarah, not because it was negative, but because it is a book about her, in her own words. If you like Sarah Palin or not, if you follow politics or not, if you like Alaska, then you will find some interest in this book.
I would like to end this review with one more quote from Sarah Palin "Only dead fish go with the flow." (page 26)

I was given a free 30 day trial to the groOrganic Garden Planner on http://www.groorganic.com/
I was really excited to try this out because I have my greenhouse and I love to Garden. I was really excited to also become a member of groOrganic. The planner uses a SFG method. Which is square foot gardening. I have never used this type before, usually I just plant. lol. I found that it was a lot easier and that I saved space in the process. You can add plants or delete plants as the summer goes on. I was also very impressed by the planner itself. Every plant I was looking for, and then some, were there, although not all varieties. For example Comfrey was an available plant. However there was only 1 type of tomato. But when you double click on the picture of the tomato you can add the variety of your choice, like cherry. I was also pleasantly surprised that each plant they list includes an information button next to the name. The info tab tells you all about the plant, a few examples are plant family, soil, space and harvesting. So now I know all about Comfrey :). The Planner also takes into effect where you live and your frost zones. So as the summer progresses you know when to start sowing certain seeds and planning for the following year. The planner also automatically keeps perennials in the plan for the following year.
All in all I was very impressed and would like to use this planner every year to plan my garden. I would just add more varieties of plants.

New Velveeta Dish !!!

I have to say I am a fan of Velveeta. I like to add cheese to recipes or baked potatoes, and my bro in law Kevin can make really good nachos with Velveeta. So when I saw this at Wal-mart for $1.75 I figured I would try it.

Everything you need is in the box, except for the beef (which I had some frozen). It was really easy to cook, and I was able to watch the news while the beef simmered.

It was GOOD! we liked it and my hubby had seconds. It fed 4 of us (with 2nds). It tasted yummy and was filling. I however had an issue with the consistency. It was a little too juicy. The second serving was not as juicy, and makes me wonder if this would be a good freezer meal, or a good meal to make purposely for leftovers. All in all out of 5 I would rate this a 4. :)

I based my rating on taste, price, consistency, ease of cooking, different uses.

The soup was so good. We had it on a day that we got 30 inches of snow. We sat in front of the fire place, and were warmed to the bone. I was also able to use the soup rack in my pantry and took the place of 3 flats, and it is so much easier to get my can goods. (saves space too!) The light soup did not even taste light, and both has a smooth taste. However my Hubby stole the soup mug and matching spoon. He uses it every day, for soup or cereal. My favorite recipe is the Cream of mushroom soup added to baking chicken, so fast and so good.

About the video, this is what I thoght would be a cool commercial. Imagine if you lock yourself out of your house, and have no cell phone, on a cold damp day. That's when the soup can walkie-talkies came in handy. Thanks to my Sister and Brother in law. I have to say my niece and nephew stole the show. They were upset that they didn't get to stay outside, but as anyone knows, kids are unpredictable. They were so cute, and did so good :)

Hi all,
First and foremost thank you all for checking it. It has been a rough winter! We got about 7 feet of snow. ugh. I haven't been shopping, but I have been working on other things. It was also the year anniversary since my dad died, and on that day we welcomed my new niece in the world. Nothing beats a baby! Especially when you are an aunt.
I have also started knitted. The real kind. lol. before I was using a loom. (and only made scarves and hats). Now I am making an afghan for our queen size bed. I figured to start I wanted a big project to clear up any issues. After all it's only for me.
My sister taught me how to do mile a minute knitting. Thanks Lori!
Hopefully this is the beginning of more regular posting.
I want to post pics of my afghan, and it is time to start up working in my greenhouse too.

This is the prie pack I received from Wanchai Ferry and Macaroni Grill through Myblogspark. We made the Orange Chicken. All we needed to add was Chicken.

This is the Chicken cooking. It was a really easy recipe to follow.

It was also very easy to cook the rice while the chicken was cooking.

This is the finished product, and I thought that it tasted so yummy. I would rather make this then go out for orange chicken. This was a really nice date night pack, but this time of year I love being around my sisters, so I invited my sister over for a double date! The pack fed all of us, and I used the gift card to buy fire wood starters for the fireplace.

This is my sister and her hubby, they have been married 10 years!

Hi all! Happy Halloween! I know it is a bit late, but I have had a busy week! I had to put all our summer flowers into the greenhouse, plus I have been spending a lot of time with the kiddos. I did go to Target on Halloween and I got FREE tide travel, plus with the overage I got a $20 Coffee pot, on sale for $8, for $6 after coupon overage. I was so excited to have the opportunity to receive and review these new Febreze set & refresh air fresheners through myblogspark. I could not wait to open The Thai Dragon Fruit scent. It was such an exotic and fun smell. These new kits need no plugs or batteries, and are truly attractive to have in my home. I was curious to see if anyone noticed that the holder was an air freshener, so I placed it on my fireplace. It has been about 2 months, and it still smells very attractive. I have had people pick it up, and comment that they never would have believed that it was an air freshener. The holders are in different colors, and go with any decor.

It was super easy to put together, you just slide the liquid cartridge in the slot, and fragrance soon welcomes you. There are also different levels of opening the holder, so you can control the amount of fragrance being dispensed. I would definitely buy these, and I definitely recommend them. My cats never went after them, and I do not have to worry about wires or batteries.

As I sit here smelling the Thai Dragon fruit I feel like I should be relaxing. Maybe knitting or reading.
